Daisy Lowe Launches the AGA 60

If you’ve always thought of an AGA as something for huge country houses, then think again. Now, with the launch of a new 60cm AGA cooker, they are as at home in the city as they are in the shires.

And who better to unveil the latest model than London AGA owner Daisy Lowe? Last week saw her launch not only the AGA City60, but also the company’s brand new shop in London's Spital Square.Daisy Lowe and her AGA 60 in her London flat

The focus for both is on urban living as the new store is based in one of the trendiest parts of London and the new cooker is designed for those with smaller kitchens, typically in city apartments.

Daisy Lowe cut a cake in the shape of the new AGA and guests enjoyed drinks at canapés at Galvin la Chapelle, tours of the AGA shop and a first look at the new cooker. The event also included a speech by AGA Rangemaster Group Chief Executive William McGrath.

Daisy had quite a dash across London to make it to the event as she had been signing copies of her new cookery book, Sweetness and Light, which was launched earlier in the day at Selfridges.

Daisy, who owns an AGA herself having grown up with one in her family home, said “I have an AGA at home because I love the way they make food taste.

“I grew up eating Sunday roasts out of a family AGA and nothing cooks roasts like it. As well as cooking food which is tasty, I love the AGA aesthetic. They’re just so beautiful and classic.

“I think this new cooker is brilliant – it means that even if you have a smaller kitchen you can still benefit from an AGA.”
