We were thrilled to host The Future Kitchen event at Halcyon on London’s Wigmore Street on 16th October. At the beautiful venue, guests enjoyed a fascinating and insightful talk from renowned futurist and author William Higham, founder of Next Big Thing Consulting. Exploring the lifestyles, values, and technologies shaping how we live, cook, and connect, William offered a glimpse into what’s changing, what’s enduring, and what will define the kitchens of tomorrow.

The guest list brought together leading journalists, kitchen designers, architects, and retail partners — all eager to explore what the future holds for this most essential room in the home.

With William’s help we looked at the trends informing the future kitchen to understand how our brands continue to shape the kitchens of tomorrow.

ENJOYING AN EASY LIFE

We’ll be increasingly willing to invest in products that enhance comfort, convenience and, importantly, calm. Seamless living is key here and that's why we will, ironically, be seeing much more of the invisible kitchen!AGA Kitchen Lifestyle

Technology will be multi-functional and unobtrusive. There to make life easier, rather than just for the sake of it. Kitchens will be flexible, blended and effortlessly adaptable to the household's rhythm.

The 'tech-quiet kitchen' is on the rise and innovations such as the Novy Undercover induction hob will set new standards. This is a sanctuary of ease and serenity. Luxury lies not in what you see, but in what you don't. Think whisper-quiet extraction, gesture-controlled lighting and non-dominant screens. These kitchens offer escape from an ever-noisier world. They reduce sensory overload and leave room for the kitchen as a social space.

EMOTIONAL LUXURY

Self-care has evolved from indulgence to necessity, offering a way to stay strong, grounded and connected. As we’ve learned to prioritise our mental and emotional wellbeing, our attitude to luxury has changed too.

True luxury now means authenticity, craftsmanship and emotional resonance through investment in products and experiences that make everyday life feel richer and more human. Embodying this shift are the artistry of a La Cornue cooker, with its unrivalled beauty, and the enduring warmth of an AGA, with its iconic look and gentle radiant heat.

Luxury is no longer about show; instead it’s about soul, warmth, beauty and time well spent. It’s about longevity of product, buying ethically, generosity, and personalising our homes in a way that brings real joy.

BUILDING A HAPPY HOME

Family in KitchenThe way we live has changed and we’re seeing more jigsaw families, multi-generational households, boomerang kids and luxury co-living than ever before. This means we’re looking for our kitchens to work even harder and to offer a joyful experience for all.

In the luxury space, this means we want technology that blends seamlessly in a space built for sociability. The home now, more than restaurants, is increasingly becoming the place where we want to spend meaningful time with friends and family. We want emotional design that feels warm and personal.

Happiness comes from sharing products that bring real joy, such as an AGA in a bright colour, home-made pottery displayed beautifully, and personal items that bring meaning to the space. We want our homes to work for us and our guests and we are designing them ever more to meet our collective needs, rather than simply as an asset to sell on.

In essence, the kitchen of the future is a place where innovation meets emotion,Family in Kitchen with Dog a luxury sanctuary shaped by care, convenience and community. It offers a place of cocooning and reflection in a space that also soothes, simplifies, and strengthens connection.

As craftsmanship and technology align, luxury becomes quieter, more personal, and deeply human.

Whether through the enduring warmth of an AGA, the silent precision of a Novy appliance, or the timeless artistry of a La Cornue, these icons continue to evolve while honouring tradition.

Together, they redefine modern living, creating kitchens that are as nurturing as they are beautiful, as forward-thinking as they are familiar.

In every sense, the future kitchen is where comfort and craftsmanship converge and where life, in all its richness, unfolds…
