Spend a few minutes making your own spiced walnuts and impress your guests!
115g (4 oz) granulated sugar
4 tbsp water
Zest of ½ orange
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
175g (6 oz) walnut halves
Makes 2 small bowls
1. Place the sugar, water, orange zest and spices into the large AGA cast aluminium frying pan. Stir together and then add the walnuts. Cook over a moderate heat, stirring occasionally for about 7 minutes, until the liquid has evaporated and the walnuts have absorbed the flavours.
2. Transfer to a piece of Bake-O-Glide and allow to go completely cold before serving.
Rayburn cooking: Cook on the hotplate. Conventional cooking: Cook on the hob.
