Cider and Apple Sauce

Easy to make, this delicious sauce accompanies either a roast gammon or roast pork.

Cider and apple sauce in a wine glass

2 large Bramley apples

2 tbsp honey

500ml dry cider

1 tbsp cider vinegar

Makes enough for 8 servings

 1. Peel and core the apples and cut into chunks. Place them in an AGA Stainless Steel Saucepan and pour over the honey, cider and cider vinegar.  Bring the ingredients up to the boil and stir, then cover with the saucepan lid.

2. Place the saucepan into the simmering oven for 30-40 minutes until the apples are soft. Stir the sauce so the apples breakdown – if you prefer a really smooth sauce it can be blended. Taste and season for flavour.

3. Serve warm.
