Creamy mash is the perfect year-round comfort food. Its versatility means it can accompany most savory dishes or serve as a delicious topping for meat, vegetable, or fish pies. The AGA simmering oven offers an excellent way to cook potatoes. Alternatively, you can continue simmering them on the hotplate or induction for 15-20 minutes until soft.

Serves 4
900g potatoes, peeled and cut into small even pieces
1 tsp salt
25g butter
3 tbsp cream
Ground nutmeg, as needed
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Preparation Time: 5 minutes. Cooking Time: 20 minutes.
1. Place the potatoes and salt in a medium-sized pan cover up to two-thirds with water.
2. Bring to the boil on the boiling plate, hotplate on boiling setting or induction on high and boil for 5 minutes.
3. Drain off the water, cover the pan with a lid and place in the simmering oven on the floor grid (if required). Cook for 30-40 minutes until tender.
4. Mash the hot potatoes, add the butter and cream and mix until evenly combined.
5. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste
