These days an AGA cooker can be fuelled by Electricity, Gas, Oil or LPG. The solid fuel AGA has not been produced since the 1990’s and we believe our current range of products are the most efficient we have ever made and are much less demanding than the original solid fuel AGA that needed to be fuelled twice a day. Often though, a lot of our earlier owners had domestic staff who would load the cooker with coke for them!
Whilst we believe we have the best options for the modern home, should you want to investigate the possibility of a solid fuel or wood burning range cooker, look at our sister brand, Rayburn.
Nothing is difficult to cook on the AGA, it is hugely forgiving and often dishes you cook all the time just taste better when you cook them on an AGA.
We always recommend you start by using the Cook book that comes with your cooker. The book helps you get a feel for AGA cooking generally and to work out the position of each temperature in the ovens. The good news is that it is very logical (the higher up in the cooker you place the food, the hotter it is) and once you know where the temperature is that you need, it will always be in the same place. So it is much easier than a conventional cooker in the long run. If you want something to cooker faster you just move it up in the oven, cook more slowly you just move it down or to a cooler oven.
Your local AGA shop holds regular demonstrations to help you get the most from your AGA and all have staff who can give you advice on how to adapt your favourite recipes. Alternatively AGA cookbooks are available to buy online or at your local AGA shop.
The best way to find out if your home is right for an AGA cooker is to visit an AGA shop. Here our friendly and knowledgeable team will guide you through our collection of cookers, discuss your particular requirements and advise you on the best model to suit your home.
There are a large number of cookers in the range so there should be no problem finding the right one for you and your home.
To make doubly sure, once you have placed your order we will send an experienced member of our Installation team to your home to ensure we have the right model on order and make sure the installation runs without a hitch.
